FRANKIE ADEL
Vocals
Frankie Adel grew up in the “Happy Days” city of Milwaukee where he fell in love with the music of the 50’s and 60’s and began performing that genre at age 16 with various bands. Along with his voice, Frankie honed skills on the guitar and sax and got a bachelor’s degree in music from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. At age 20 he became the youngest member of Rocket 88, the Premiere 50’s/60’s rock band in Milwaukee playing with veteran musicians that had toured with the Everly Brothers and Bobby Vee, giving Frankie the chance to earn his chops performing songs by some of the best rockers and doo-woppers of that era, and playing hundreds of shows in the biggest ballrooms and clubs throughout Wisconsin. Frankie’s flame for performing then led him to join The Legends in San Diego, with well-known musicians from bands such as the Outsiders and The Syndicate of Sound, where he did realistic impersonations in full costume of Elvis, Little Richard, Dion, Fats Domino, Frankie Valli, Jerry Lee Lewis (where he actually set a piano on fire!) and other rock and roll superstars.
When the internationally famous band, Sha Na Na, tapped him on the shoulder to join them as a lead singer and sax player, he jumped at the opportunity. He toured world-wide with Sha Na Na playing 15,000 seat arenas, festivals, TV appearances, Vegas, Broadway and put out albums, CD’s and videos and shared the stage with many incredible and legendary artists such as the Beach Boys, Three Dog Night, Paul Anka, Dick Clark, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Spinners, Frankie Avalon, Jan and Dean, The Animals, Charlie Daniels, the cast of Grease featuring Olivia Newton John and John Travolta, just to name a few. These days he’s groovin’ with Glory Dayz, uplifting audiences to dance all night to the greatest rock classics with the rockin’ spirit and joy of music he inspires.
